Kollam Beach, otherwise called Mahatma Gandhi Beach, is a shoreline at Kollam city in the Indian state of Kerala. Kollam Beach is the principal ‘Beach Wedding Destination’ in Kerala.
The beach likewise includes a recreation center of global standard, the Mahatma Gandhi Park, which was initiated on 1 January 1961 by the then Vice President of India, Zakir Hussain. Kollam beach is one among the few beach in Kerala with a lifeguard station. Lifeguards were positioned at the shoreline from 2005. Starting at July 2015 Kovalam, Kollam is one among the three beach in south Kerala with lifeguard stations.
Kollam Port is one of the most oldest and most essential ports for the worldwide cashew exchange on the Malabar Coast of the Arabian Sea. Starting at 2010, Kollam Port was the second biggest port in Kerala after Cochin Port.
Kollam was previously a most loved settlement of the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English in progression before Independence.
